Word of advice please on my T25

I recently bought a t25 similar to this: Garrett T25 turbocharger A R 48 EX 49 | eBay

But it seems that most of the downpipes available out there are 4 bolt and this one is 3.

what should i do?
thanks everyone!

Not that this will be much help, but...the FM and Bell Engineering stuff is 5-bolt.

Get a shop to make you a downpipe? Make your own downpipe? Or sell said turbo and buy one with a 5 bolt flange and profit.

firefaux 12-08-2012 05:26 PM

what metal shop in san antonio would do that?

czubaka 12-08-2012 05:36 PM

Bell Engineering isn't too far from you. Hell, any half-way decent shop could easily fab one up. Do some searching for trusted shops in the area and you should be good to go.

Oh, and of course wait until you have the turbo in hand. A 3-bolt seems really weird to me (not much experience), and the ebay listing didn't have decent photos. Maybe it's a 5-bolt with two studs missing or sheared off...

Just looked it up. Yeah, you'll have to do a custom setup.

Ya but it looks like the whole housing is that way

It probably looks like this:

Get a flange and a custom downpipe made. No big deal.

That outlet and DP would be a piece of cake to fab up. How much power are you trying to make/ how much boost do you plan on running though?

I seen a 3 bolt flange, believe it was 2.5". That converted it to v band. I will update this with a link when I find it!

Sweet I just boost mine for about 1600 including clutch job!!!

firefaux 12-13-2012 06:32 PM

None. You must alter the FPR or injectors (or add a piggyback/standalone) to add boost to the car.

czubaka 12-13-2012 06:33 PM

How stock? Stock injectors - none (that I'm aware of). I've heard the stock fuel pump is good for 10-12 ish psi.

Yeah, and what Andrew said. Stock ecu is good for zero boost.

I hope you realize this is not a smart question. Boost is not absolute, it's different based on many other parameters. Usually though the stock injectors run out around 150whp area.

My92 12-13-2012 06:45 PM

I would look for atleast a FMU, there easy to obtain and will allow you to run a low boost setting. Be sure to retard your timing some to help keep knock away if your running a stock ecu. Usually retarding 4 degrees ahould be a safe bet for around 5-6 psi with a FMU.

firefaux 12-13-2012 06:57 PM

ok. since everything on my car is stock I'm aiming for 6psi. I presume the stock 1.8 injectors should be sufficient for my 1.6?
