If I got bigger injectors, would a fmu be necessary?

The FAQ says stock injectors are good up to 6 psi.. Could I do that without a fmu?

You need the FMU to raise the fuel pressure with boost. That increases your fuel flow or cc`s. With out a FMU its not gonna work

Are you sure you should be installing a turbo? The oil drain will be easy, it has two bolts. The oil feed is exactly opposite. The remaining two are water. They are not directional. And yes you will probably have to clock the turbo (rotate it).

Yes, in a round about kinda way it work just like a Rising rate fuel pressure regulator, for every lb of boost it will increase fuel pressure by a said amount.

ok. sweet. One more question: given that the exhaust port for my turbo is a 3 bolt and the wastegate recirculates the gases back to the turbine, would i have to setup my system differently in any way or is it all pretty standard?

You have an internal wastegate. You just need to have a downpipe made with the proper flange.

All the wastegate does in a dumbed down manner is allow exhaust gasses to BYPASS the exhaust turbine so you only make the appropiate boost (in this case what ever boost pressure your wastegate is set at) with out it the turbo would just spin till it popped.

just got some 97 injectors and a procharger fmu.
now as for the installation, the top goes to the intake pressure, the middle goes to the gas input and bottom goes to gas return???

just got 1.8 injectors, procharger fmu, 255lph hp fuel pump, and a cheap ebay cast iron mani im planning to cut relief lines on. would a MSD Boost Control sufficient for low boost mods? if so how much boost?

would one of these work? or even needed? MSD Boost Ignition Timing Unit for Miata 1990-1997

Is that a 1:1 FMU or a rising rate FMU ? I don't know anything much about FMUs but know that the rising rate FMU raises the fuel pressure by 8 or 12 lbs (or something) for every pound of manifold air pressure increase and that you can change an internal part to adjust how much it rises per pound of manifold pressure to change the fuel air ratio.

Do you have a wideband oxygen sensor or are you going to run a small hose up to the cabin to smell the exhaust under boost to tell if it is rich or lean?
