I think youre a madman

TurboTim 03-29-2010 10:53 PM

Haha nice find. Looks like Paul's hotside reroute pipe.

There are many other cars that have this type of shit on them. And a chevy tracker isn't exactly the most common car to find at a pick n pull.
Not a bad idea though

2003 chevy tracker

turotufas 03-29-2010 11:20 PM

Nice piece of pipe there. A big city junk yard might have a few.

WonTon 03-30-2010 01:18 AM

johnmatt 03-30-2010 04:57 PM

pics! or it didnt happen!

part number as well if there is one?

gospeed81 03-30-2010 05:00 PM

Yeah...home depot is much easier, but that is an interesting piece.

May be worth it if it's just right since you could use cheap straight pieces of hose instead of the $22!!! Gates specialty ones listed in the Mike's Place videos.

johnmatt 03-30-2010 07:21 PM

I'll get a pic and see if I can find a PN tonite when I get home

WonTon 03-30-2010 09:15 PM

Do it now!

johnmatt 03-31-2010 10:08 AM

Sorry I forgot I left it in my buddies truck when I got it from lowes.

Nothing special but it should work. Not bad for $8

WonTon 04-05-2010 02:52 PM

are the ends of it flared?

is it steel, aluminum or stainless?

Faeflora 04-05-2010 02:53 PM

I think that's a good idea but a pipe is just a pipe is just a pipe dude.

johnmatt 04-05-2010 02:56 PM

Only the one end is flared. Can't remember what it's made out of though don't think it's alum. I got the idea from this thread https://www.miataturbo.net/forum/t43269/

WonTon 04-05-2010 02:58 PM

take a magnet to it! if its not aluminum and the magnet doesnt stick then its gotta be stainless.......what section of home depot did you get it out of?

johnmatt 04-05-2010 02:59 PM

Did a google search and it says 1 1/2 brass. I got it from the plumbing section at lowes

WonTon 04-05-2010 03:00 PM

hmmmm, im gonna need to find sombody how can do some braising for me then if i get that pipe!
