11.870 / 114.64 mph on Emanage Ultimate
Finally I went to drag strip with Locost Seven.
Based on -96 Miata, stock engine except exhintake cam, Garrett GT2560 turbo, 440 cc injector run by stock ECU and Greddy Emanage Ultimate piggyback. Best 60' 1.736 Best trap speed 114.77 Best overall time 11.870 / 114.64 in quarter Eight of a mile 7.596 / 93.01 mph All these with Road Racing setup and tires having 1.5 to 2 degrees camber. hrk |
I was about to call bs...
..then I noticed its not a miata Good stuff:giggle: |
Any idea how much power you make?
|
Yes, 240 hp at the wheels with 12 psi spring in external 38 mm Tial wastegate.
|
Dang, not bad at all. Did you get a 60' time?
Heikki, what drag strip is still open? I want to go too... |
Ben,
On that run 1.776 seconds. These are the shoes MS3 will have to fill... After December 4th I will bug you guys further if I cannot get it sorted :) Commerce is open on Fridays, for open cars make sure you bring hand restraints. http://www.atlantadragway.com/ |
Cool, I thought they had already shut down for the year. I'll see if I can get there this Friday, assuming I get the heater core replaced in my truck before then. :(
|
More importantly- how much does the locost weigh?

http://www.flickr.com/photos/k4cay/6...in/photostream With me and in running condition ~1750 +- depending on gas level. Fuel Cell is 10 gallons. Not that much lighter than lightened Miata... hrk |
Very impressive 60-foot for a handling-oriented setup. What tires, specifically, were you running?
|
Road Racing takeoffs.
Hoosier 13/10x22 Radial slicks in 35 A compound. It was wierd, The first trial run was 12.2 and from there on the car went slower, I had wheelspin in fourth gear way down the track, it felt like I had a flat tire. Pressure was good, and they were not corded. They seemed to have residue from glue, maybe that was building up and causing them to slip. I changed tires to previously retired set and kept heating them more in the burnout area. They seemed to work without detoriating and I got continuous low 12 sec times. I also dialed the rebound off from front shocks and ran them in 28 psi against normal 14 psi tire pressure. hrk |

I got the truck's heater core replaced this evening, so I'm planning on hitting atlanta dragway on Friday in the Challenge Miata. At its current 2218 lbs with 6 gallons of gas and stock power, it might not lay down the most impressive times, but I want to wind it out. You going to be back there this Friday?
|
I wasn't planning to go back until I get the Megasquirt tuned.
Let us know how stock car does there. |
