still there just took a break to save up $$ i had hoped to have it on the raod this weekend but the damn oil feed fitting busting put the kabash on that. Then there was the broken piston squirter, and the c clips that sprang across the room. all becouse i wanted to do my rods and oil pump finally lol. i am glad i did it though cause the stock rods where bent. After i get the new fitting i should be back to terrorizing the roads in no time.

i dont think its worth changing cams, iirc the solid lifter 99+ cams are pretty decent from the factory. i'd try slapping an adjustable cam gear on the intake cam though, and retarding it by 10-12* (5-6 cam degrees). i have mine retarded 12* and i had to increase my VE by about 10% at ~5000rpm+. supposedly doing this will sap some bottom end power but i havent missed it!

PS kudos on the timing map, you're running a good 5* more advance than i am, and you have 1.3 points higher compression! how are you tuning spark? listening for knock or tuning for MBT?

I really wish we had a trans that could take the power...I'd love to run my car at 280whp (DynoDynamics). 250whp is starting to bore more again.

subaru/evo guys usually shell out upwards of 5k for their ****.
But I hear you.

paying for a gearbox more than half of what your car costs sucks

I have been wanting to do cam gears for a bit now to see what i could get out of them. Ive been hoping boundary engineering would have those carbon fiber ones done.

Just listening for knock with some det cans also the other reason I might be able to run more ignition is lower intake temps do to the turbo flowing more then the normal turbos people run. Also the fact I have a intake manifold that doesn't heat soak as easy as the stock one.

Well I decided to go with the forced performance HTA3076r I got it in V-band. Only problem I ran into was it ended up being 2k for the turbo so I didn't have money for a manifold. lol So after some good hard thinking I said, well I have a BEGI T3 cast manifold so i went to my friend jimmy who owns www.theshopct.com and he is going to weld a v-band flange and wastgate flange on the manifold for me. So by next month i am hoping to have new numbers for everyone.

Its nto the money as much as its Quaife sucking and not covering my $900 differential in my VW that lasted 1 day. "Oh we only warranty the internal gears, not the broke differential case[that has quaife stamped all over it]."

Good job making a car with under 7 pounds per whp, must be intense!

I think Travis (Boundary Engineering) stopped development of 99-00 intake cam gears w/CPS trigger marks.
I emailed him about TODA making them already & to help with ideas, guess there's not sufficient interest.
Nengun Performance has them for $179. (Exhaust is $155)

NA gears, couldn't find NB pic

An HTA3076R should spool nicely with 9.5 compression & a 99-05 exhaust cam minus a few degrees...
278 duration & 8.89mm lift on both sides but staying near stock overlap
(17*) on a 99-00 @ 25 psi would compress colons. 400 whp street Miata what?
