Default 1999 Miata - GT2560R @ 15-16psi

1999 Mazda Miata
Stock engine
GT2506R @15-16psi
DIYPNP
550cc RX7 injectors
Devil's Own Meth/water injection
ARTech manifold
ARTech 3" downpipe and exhaust
CXRacing "George foreman grill" FMIC

Did 3 runs. First was in 3rd gear and didn't include it in the printout, it made 263whp. Probably about a 1 minute break between each pull. No fan or anything in front of the car (looking back I should have made them set something up). Car kept making more power each pull.

Some of you may remember my boost creep issue... still not perfect. Tried to flatten boosted out with EBC, but it's less than ideal. Going WOT at 2500rpm like this, the boost will hit 11-12psi intially, then easy up and hold 15-16 most of the way and creeps about 1psi past 6000. This helps hold some of the power past peak I'm sure...but maybe not, might be outflowing the turbo at this point.

Going GT2781R and EWG next. Wanted to get a good 'baseline' in this setup before moving on... probably run about 12-14 with that turbo until I can build the motor and get a 6 speed tranny.

275whp/258wtq SAE Corrected

Based on my...guesswork, I should be able to hit full torque/boost closer to 3k, 3200, if my boost control was right. I have to really 'numb' my EBC so it wont overboost going from part throttle boost to WOT. The boost control fail is also evident in the wavy torque, especially in blue.

At the end of the day, i wanted 250whp, so im very happy right now!

Those are great numbers on a stock engine... shows you the benefits of that style manifold over an fm/begi cast piece. An intake manifold or even a basic head-job should see you touching 300whp... bust as as been demonstrated before, you are close to the limit of the 2560. On the stock motor, I'd think an ati dampner would be a good investment to help the internals last a little longer.

In for 2871 numbers.

thanks samnavy. used your Fuel pump install how to on the miataturbo wiki FAQ today lol.

Looking into intake manifold for when i strap the 2871 on. I'll probably have to turn the boost way down so I don't make too much power, but that's fine. Engine build one day.

Just looked at the datalogs. AFR was pretty good around 11.5-11.7 for most of the runs, but past... 6k or so, it goes down, 10.5 by redline lol.

I was probably losing some fuel pressure at redline with the stock pump.... threw on the Walbro today and now it's getting too much. Might have been able to eek out a bit more power but whatever, at least it was safe I guess.

We're gonna have to pioneer the hondafold since in that other thread, after 10+ pages of talking about it, it has yet to happen.

Nice numbers man. I loved going from my 2560 to a 2871, hope you have the same experience. If you wouldn't mind posting your spark map I would love to take a look at it.

pretty aggressive timing map. here it is. running about 30 percent meth/70 percent water mix. Found a place that sells VP M1, might start mixing my own using that.

That's partially because the guy who currently owns it is still deployed.
