Default 301.5 WHP 1.6 Liter 15 PSI

I posted a few days ago on M.net, I made 277 whp but come to realize I wasn't making much boost 11-12 pounds due to the big turbo not fully spooling on the Dynojet due to no load on the motor. Posted is official dyno sheet with a load bearing dyno at 15 pounds of boost. Please note it was only run to 6300 RPM the motor can rev to 8,000 easily but didn't make much more power above 6,500 RPM.

Graph from another dyno session shows boost, it spools a little faster now though. This was when I had a warped exhaust manifold. It's more of a drag/highway car than a auto-x so the lag doesn't bother me...im used to it ;-D

unless you're planning to do a lot more it seems that turbo is too big for your application, meaning reduced powerband from slow late spool

I plan on 450+ whp out of my 1.6 not sure if that's a record or not? But next is a race gas tune 30+ psi and a new intake manifold. An the turbo does help a lot with the power I make, most don't make 300+ with 15 pounds from a 1.6 that I know of. Works for me :-D

What's the engine management? EBC might get you spooling a little quicker. That's pretty dramatic lag.

AEM EMS, what is EBC if you don't mind me asking. It's not any different than most high horsepower Supras/Civics/Evos, lag is great I have no traction issues what so ever.

Electronic boost control.

Basically a computer controlled valve between the compressor outlet and wastgate can. With EBC you can usually get a bit quicker spool because you can set it to let no pressure through to the can at all until you approach your target boost, keeping that wastgate locked tightly shut till the last moment.

I have one, the Greedy E-01. Not sure how to really mess with it, it's confusing as hell. If I mess with it do I need to retune? I let the tuners set it up. I have the "Set" at 10 an the "Gain" at 50. The gain is what makes me make 15 pounds, the set is what holds the wastegate closed, but I heard if you set them too close it with cause a boost spike.

If you change the settings you will have to retune because you will be making more boost lower and therefor hitting areas of your maps that you haven't hit/tuned before

Thanks for the input, but im satisfied with my lag. I've grown to love it, when a mustang pulls on you for a bit; then when he thinks you lost you slowly real him in...I like the looks on their faces as i'm passing them :-D

I prefer not to have to look at them and let them look at my tail lights.
