Battle of the Imports: Timesheet
The event was held at famoso raceway, bakersfield california...very good track but things were unorganized...i only got 1 run in the shake down pass and managed to win the 1st round of eliminations without a qualifying run!!!...I got eliminated in the 2nd round which was a close race!!!...but managed to get a 13.2 with my current setup minus the stock exhaust/cat and addition of slicks!!!...I had problems bottoming out the suspension(stock bilstiens w/GCcoilovers) on my last run and got only a 1.9 in the 60'ft time(does anybody make traction bars)

I actually just talked myself into saving up for the AEM, I had planned on going with MSPnP but I could live without the car for a few extra months since we'll have snow here soon
:edit: Are you thinking about the AEM FIC or their PnP EMS?

yeah seriously...the slicks were MH 23" mounted on 15in steelies(borrowed)...but i was running 8lbs of boost with 12 psi in the sicks...i am planning on running mspnp but would like to hear what people have to say about aem(standalone)...i really would like to order something because i want to turn up the boost and not beat down on my fuelpump and injectors!!!...so apexonyou i want the mspnp just because its cheaper and it has all that you really need in a ems!!!

is there any way to stop the effects of bottoming out the suspension?...like traction bars?....all i had were the mazdaspeed mounts and gc/bilstein combo!!!...i ordered the mmr diff mounts but they didnt get here on time!!!...there on back order but its been about a month and nothing!!!...some traction bars would be nice for drag racing!!!

Yeah 1 1.7 should put you in the mid to high 12s for sure.
Although pricey, if you can find a set of used JIC Magic FLT-A2s, you'll never bottom out your suspension again.. Their rear uppers add over 2" of suspension travel, i'm slammed and I never bottom out.. Plus the valving is so nice that you can run a stiff spring and still drive it on the street without loosing teeth. Otherwise I think FCM makes uppers that give more suspension travel IIRC.. Thats a hell of alot cheaper too.

500ft/lb F
400ft/lb R
The dampers are amazing, it feels more like 250ft/lb over bumps, I daily drove it for a year with them on, a good portion of that with a 140mile daily comute and I never once got tired of the ride. The build quality isnt all that great, my upper hats were being rubbed by the damper at first, and now they are corroded really bad but im sure all coilovers would corrode after going through a winter with salt.
:edit: forgot to mention this setup turned out to be perfect for the track. I never ever get any wheel hop, and shes stable as can be on launch. You could allways play with the damper settings a bit if you did hop.
