Ignition Trouble?

Here is my dyno from today, I'm thinking coil packs are the issue with the noisy chart and screwy AFR... any ideas?

- Greddy Kit @ ~6psi
- Stock exhaust and dp
- No AFPR
- Toyota green 315cc injectors
- Emanage Blue
- OG's Autotune
- Greddy Profec Spec B EBC
- Starion IC
- Colder plugs, 8.5mm wires

Typicall of dynojets, that pick up rpm signal, from the plug wires. The afr might be a screwed up Wideband on the dyno unless you where detonating.

Well, I was getting hesitation/bucking randomly while under load, the AFR just kept going back and forth... we thought it seemed like an ignition problem.

What with the o2 clamp exactly?

magnamx-5 09-08-2007 08:56 PM

obviusly you are cycling between closed and open loop i bt if yu just pulled the sensor you would run alot more even and be richer to boot.

manstretch 09-08-2007 08:59 PM

Pulled the sensor? I still don't understand why it would oscillate?

manstretch 09-10-2007 10:21 AM

Ok guys, make sure your spark plugs are tightened all the way.

cjernigan 09-10-2007 10:57 AM

Are you saying your plugs were falling out?

magnamx-5 09-10-2007 12:12 PM

If it was just loose plugs i am gonna be pissed.

There's a dyno in Durham ?? I'm in Chapel Hill and was under the impression the only dyno in 50miles was in Raleigh at Phantasm (err Ricers R Us - it's a civic shop primarily)... We should catch up somtime man - love to meet other miata folks in the area :-)

manstretch 09-19-2007 07:32 PM

Yes, all of my plugs were loose. Tightened them up and it's better, but still not perfect... I'm still getting some slight misfiring, so I bought another set of coils on ebay. We'll see if that helps any.

cjernigan 09-19-2007 08:35 PM

Might want to change the plugs and wires while you're at it to remove any other variables as well. It would be cheap assurance.

cop ftw! =)

Changed coils and wires, plugs are less than a year old... not much difference. Gonna change the fuel filter next, but I'm not expecting it to change much. How reliable is the stock fuel pressure regulator? Any chance that could be my problem?
