Default Modded TD04H-15G (Greddy) @ 10 psi

Setup:
Greddy turbo, manifold and wastegate
BEGI SGDP for greddy
2" aluminum piping pre-IC
12x18x3 Intercooler
2.5" aluminum piping post-IC
Ball & spring MBC
Knockoff greddy VTA
Exhaust: 2.5 to 3" flare, 3" gutted cat, 3" glasspack, dump @ rear axle
MSPNP, removed AFM
460cc Rx-7 injectors
NGK wires, NGK BKR7E plugs
entirely stock internally

When I pulled onto the dyno @ 10 psi: 186 rwhp @ 6750, 161 rwtq @ 5500
When I left after tuning @ 10 psi: 206 rwhp @6750, 178 rwtq @ 4750

I call it a 10 psi setup currently, it spikes to 11 but then settles at a pretty solid 10 through the rpm range, down to 9.5 psi at redline.

Dynamometer dyno, don't know how that relates to other dynos, but I am really happy with the results. I spent several hours working on the dyno with the owner operating it while I tweaked things in MS. It could have been done in much less time by someone used to dyno tuning with megasquirt (I've never dyno tuned) but this was an invaluable learning experience.

I've realized most everyone overestimates what their car puts to the ground if they've never been to the dyno. I thought I was at 200 rwhp and was shocked to see 186 rwhp when I began. I found 20 whp through tuning spark and 17 rwtq - plus, I moved the peak torque 750 rpms lower, which I can seriously feel on the street. Fuel is spot on for what I wanted - a bit leaner during spool up and then high 11's solid to redline.

Dyno overlay of first run when I got there vs. final run

Datalog of the final run:

And the difference maker: the spark table
Table when I showed up:

Tuned spark table:

I know it's not nearly the highest #'s on the forums or anything, but it is very personally satisfying. The dyno owner's buddy who is a spec miata racer hung out most of the day and kept commenting on how jealous he was and how much fun it'd be on Laguna Seca to have this power against the 'bigger' cars. He offered some fun data to me: at this power level, that's an estimated 245-250 hp @ flywheel which puts my car at a slightly better weight/hp ratio than a Lotus Exige S. Not bad for a 19 year old motor

Very Nice Numbers Indeed. What exhaust are you running? Im also preparing for MS and will be running nearly the same setup. I found a reputable MS tuner locally too so ill be ready to shoot for good power too. 200 is my goal too.

Good JOB i bet its a BLAST.

Thanks Koto, that's how I see it - the 1.6 is fighting an uphill battle against most of the guys here with 1.8's and better heads and intake manifolds, so to be right on par with many of their 10 psi setups (though torque is a bit lower) feels really good.

Thats about right for 10psi. I used to have a greddy turboed 1.6L years ago. Made 227whp and 217ft/lb @ 13-14psi. Dynojet, with an fpr, 1.8 injectors, and pump. It was a simple setup for sure, i bet the megasquirt helps a lot...esp getting rid of the afm. I had an RX7 afm on mine, 2.5in downpipe as well.
