My first dyno

Disappointed :loser:
Supposedly this dyno reads super low. All the modded speed3's were reading 210 to 220 hp uncorrected, mine read 148.4 Stock 1.6 roughly 60,000 miles 13PSI gt2560 2.5 catless exhaust Attachment 193518 Attachment 193519 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...iata/dyno2.png 1/4 mile run Attachment 193520 Here's a shot of the datalog. Attachment 193521 They're cooling fans were worthless. The video shows the first pull. after that I went up to the front and held one of the blowers on the air intake while my friend held one in front of the intercooler. All in all I'd say I need more tuning amongst other things. |
You really need a 3" exhaust my friend.
|
he needs more tuning.

Your exhaust is fine. I managed to crack the 200 HP mark with my stock 1.6 on a Dynojet with a 2.5" exhaust, a plain ole' ceramic cat, and a tiny little Greddy TD04H-15G turbo running 13-14 PSI, but it took a fair amount of tweaking to get there. I picked up over 20 ft/lbs in the midrange with a few simple fuel adjustments.
I don't see AFR logged anywhere, either on the dyno sheets or on your image of the datalog. Your ignition timing looks quite conservative to me as well. The base timing in the spark map isn't too bad, but take, for instance, the point where the cursor is (5515 RPM @ 171 kPa). The base map is calling for about 15° there, and yet you're only seeing 7.6° in the log. Part of that is probably MAT (133°F, climbing to 169°?!) although the curves (MAT vs. Spark) don't seem to be tracking the way I'd expect. Get in there and figure out what's pulling your spark advance. |
Omg. How did I make 209 whp on a smaller turbo with a shitty setup? Oh..I know...I wasn't on a mustang dyno, and for 1/4 mile proof, I ran at a track that printed out a time slip saying 13.9.
A: you need to get on a real dyno. 2: you need to hit a real drag strip D: you have to be making at least 200 whp. There is something wrong with your car/ tune. |

Here's the tune I was running and the full log.
Here's a snapshot of the AFR target table Attachment 193517 3" exhaust is in the works. I wouldnt have gone to a mustang dyno normally, but this was a local mazda dyno day, so it was fairly cheap. Plus I figured it would show me where I was at after having the car turbo for 3+ years. |
I don't know much about tuning but your transition into boost doesn't look good. But what do I know? Also 12.0 is a little lean for my liking.

your fuel and spark tables are terrible. Let me know if you can't find the info you need from examples in the tuning forum and I'll point you on the way to glory.

So out of fear I switched it to the current map. If there is a certain one anyone recommends i'm up for it :) As for fuel all of the tuning there has been from the autotune in tunerstudios. I'd love to hear suggestions on what to do there as well. |

I have a few different spark maps that I have run in the past without any issues. Last time I posted one up everyone shit bricks about how aggressive it was..
Find out why. |
Could it have been from the super high AITs??

needs more timing and less AITs.

Ok, went for a canyon drive and did some logs with a new spark table.
this: Attachment 193501 Didn't hear any knock, and got no hesitation with that table. Is that table too aggressive? Notice the manifold air temps on this log compared to the dyno log. Ambient temperature was around 59* F Here's a GPS track of the datalog. http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msa=0...c5ba47c728cbe5 datalog attached |
for clarification... what is your altitude and are those numbers uncorrected?
|
6400 feet
148 uncorrected 173 corrected |
