Yeah the altitude factored in to my times being slow, but it was mostly my reaction time, i raced my buddies wrx and he ran a 15.3, the people video taping me saw that i was pulling on him towards the last half, so i should be putting down better times. Mac did an excellent job tuning my car it runs much better, got a fast pass at the emissions station, and held together after racing. So im impressed. I also have to worry about a stock rear end and 146,000 miles on the engine. So granted i wasnt putting all my cards in. Plus mac went over my emanage install and figured out that the tuning shop in tucson did not install my emanage right. almost 16 wires, 9 were not connected, and they only connected the ignition timing wires correctly, i had to rewire it and move wires to the other harnes and then i was able to adjust fuel. In tucson there is only one tuner shop and its APEX motorsports on speedway, not the most freindly guys or helpful guys either.
Basic greddy kit, intercooler, 305's, 190hp walbro, emanage. |
also bandimere is at 5,580 ft above sealevel, factor that in and everything is slower. I come back to tucson and squeal my tires just taking off normal until i get used to the altitude difference.

for what it's worth, your reaction time has nothing to do with your elapsed time. the time doesn't start ticking till you trip the beams out of the staging area, and stops when you trip the beams in the traps.
if you're new to drag racing, don't worry about your reaction times, they don't mean anything except who gets off the tree faster. |

Im perfectly aware my 60ft time is crap, im pretty sure all my buddies that went with me gave me crap about it. I was having a tough time getting my clutch to slip enough, and i didnt want to just drop it, worried about my diff, either way every time i launched i ended up bogging it and taking off pretty gently.
