Default Turbo Miata 1/8th mile

I only made one pass because I was concerned with breaking my stock rear end. But I suppose its pretty decent for what the car is a chinacharged bucket of bolts.

The car ran an 8.467 on ~185kpa and I managed to knock out a 1.96 60' on 195 all seasons. The cobra ran a 9.05.

That is a really good 60' time on radials. What was your mile per hour?

It trapped ~84mph, I think just a tick under. I had intended on running the car ***** out on my 205kpa tune, but I forgot I had turned my MBC back down, and I wasn't in the mood to push my luck with another run.

Nice run man. You are knocking on the door of a 12.99 1/4 . When I used to drag way back it usually would take an 8.45 1/8 to run a high 12. With an avg trap speed 85 to 87 mph.

Thats what I would really like to see. I just like the idea of being able to say I have two 12 second daily drivers even if its a 12.999999 lol.

But if I cant get do it on 12psi Im sure I'm sure I could creep into the 12's with another 3psi

Not really, A couple of 60-100 pulls, a dyno video on the baseline tune.

I'll be sure to really max it out and get some drag radials and try to break something when I have a 1.8 diff sitting.

I just want to redline clutch dump it and go...

My experience has shown cars that 60' very well need to be in the 8.20's range to get in the 12's. When I say 60' well, I mean fully prepared on slicks. Radial cars that just break into the 12's will usually go much quicker if on slicks.

When my nitrous burning, slick shod Miata was running 13-teens, I was in the 8.30s range. My current n/a car running in the 8.40's range put me in the 13.30's-13.40's, but I only had 80 MPH in the 1/8th. My point to all this is if the OP gets the proper rear, has the right tires and gearing, the car would be deep enough into the 12's to be rightfully called a 12 second car.

Before I invest in slicks, a new rear end, ect. I may just make a pass on 15psi with street tires and see where I fall.

But if I fall short that will be next on my agenda.

Drag racing the Miata for me did not get fun until I put slicks on the car. If you spend much time on the strip, it is a good investment.
