Default 1996 miata and emanage blue problems

Hi all

I am trying to fit an emanage blue to a 1996 1.8 miata with a boomslang harness but am having varius problems with it as I believe a couple of wires may be in the wrong posision ,does any one have a diagram showing the correct wiring for a late style miata .

Many thanks Ian

There's the thread with the problem I had, though I also installed autotune.

Thanks for the reply

Have seen this and hoped it was the same but sadly not I wish there was a point to point diagram for fitting emanage blue to the later 1996 cars.

Thanks Ian

There's no diagram that I know of, just the various wiring diagrams for the car, and the pinout for the emb in the install instructions.

What are the specific problems you're having? I don't know much, but olderguy and jefe were very helpful to me, hopefully they can chime in once you provide more info.

What kind of trouble are you having?

I'm running EMB on my 96. IIRC there used to be some good info here. Including Pin outs for both the 95 and 96. But the forum was deleted a few months ago...and all the info lost.

You can use the MS schematic for some of the reference points.

You should be able to cross reference with the EM manual. My buddy has one in his 97.... Jefe's been running his for a while.

IIRC the resister is only required in the 99+ though.... But you should be able to use the factory ECU map and line everything up.

The issue I had was the factory ecu in my 95.5 was different than even the workshop manual for a wire or two, so I had to move some stuff accordingly.

...we still don't know what your "various problems are". Without more info, all we can tell you to do is look at all the pinouts and schematics you can find and trace your wires back and forth between the ecu and the emb.

Usually the grey wire is the TPS signal on EMB's.

If it's popping all the time then it sounds like maybe your O2 clamp isn't operating properly (or is working all the time)

Are you tunning with MAP or MAF?

Are you using a map sensor? Are you using the autotune box from OG?

Ian, I can email you the ECU pinout for your car and the EMB pinout so you can cross reference the connections on the Boomslang.
As for the LC1 wiring you need to decide which way you want to tune, I still recommend that you connect it to the TPS input and calibrate the output to 0v=10:1 and 5v=20:1 so you are not restricted to the stock injectors that the way you were suggesting on mx5nutz would have meant. Its also a very easy way to see your afr's as 12.5:1 will easily be seen as 25% TPS.
Alternatively you could always just connect the LC1 up to the MAF2 input, keep the TPS connection as it should be and use Hau's emanage tools to datalog, that way you can still use the acceleration map....
Decisions...
