Default Double Check

Alright Ive got a 1991 Miata with a Jackson Racing Blower running at 10lbs.

The issue was that the Jackson air flow converter was only supporting the intended 6lbs, so I was running pretty lean. So ive removed the jrsc box and returned the map wires back to stock.

Ive just recently picked up a greddy Emanage Blue. Installed it with the most basic harness... connections are as listed..

CONNECTED:
Power
Ground
TPS only shows full throttle on my early miata!
map in
map out
RPM

NOT CONNECTED:
The Injector wires?

QUESTIONS I HAVE:
Injector wires... Are these just to monitor injectors?
Should I cut my existing injector wires and connect them only to my emb?

TPS
Do i need to pick a variable TPS, if so what do the actual miata guys use. Ive read that there are a few options.

First off, you need to read the badly worded emanage manual...

Read through the FAQs here, and I believe in the archive threads section, there's info for a 1.6 install.

The injector wires are designed to help the EMB control fueling, by modifying the signal from the stock ECU....

You need both harnesses for the EMB to do both injectors and the ignition.

Most 1.6s have an on-off switch TPS, so most people just leave it disconnected.

Check all the threads here, and you'll probably get most answers....

Thank you.

Yes ive been poking around and Its tough to find some solid information. This site seems to have the most straight forward facts.

Is there an advantage or disadvantage to disconnecting the sensor?

Back to injectors.
Ive only got the main harness and it has 4 injector wires. Should i cut the wires from my stock ecu and connect them directly to the EMB?

Or does the EMB not control injectors with just this harness?

The issue with the 1.6's is they have batch injectors, so you realistically only need 2 of those wires....

I'll see what I can find.....

Idiots Pictorial Guide to EManage - Miata Turbo Forum - Home of the turbo Mazda Miata.

See this URL for info on a documented 1.6 install.

Also given the amount of users who are running the EMB in the UK, the MX5nuts site does have some good information as well.....

Your setup is close to mine. If you plan on dumping your rrfpr and running bigger injectors the EMB won't be enough for 10psi. I switched from an EMB to an EMU as my 305cc injectors are getting maxed out around 8 psi and 305's are the recommended max size to run on an EMB.

Hmm steeb.

Are you saying that i cannot tune 10psi with emb?

My setup is as follows...
Jackson Blower 10psi pully
EMB
310 injectors
Front mount intercooler
Methanol injection
header and borla exhaust

My car is currently not leaning out up top. Its leaning out through a mid rpm range. Its got plenty of fuel from 4k and up.

I'll admit I'm no expert. According to my logs, when running my 305cc injectors I'm hitting 80%+ duty cycle on my injectors trying to maintain an 11.2 AFR.

Will this work with my EMB? Anyone know?

I'm running stock fuel pressure.

I'm also running the same knock-off map sensor (the one pictured in the body of the ad not the one in the top left corner) The voltage output is the same as the GReddy and it is stable enough to allow to me remove my AFM.

Quick shot of my fuel map plotted in Excel

If your fueling is anything like mine it sounds like you are running lean in the mid-range because your injectors are maxed out. My fuel demand is highest in the 4500-5500 range at max boost to maintain correct AFRs.
