is it possible to change the rev. limiter point which is on
2000NB with the EMU?

A turbo should be installed and the ~7K rpm seeems to low.

are you going to do any work to your head? not sure stock valvetrain can handle much more than the 7200 its at
i would like a higher rev limiter myself, what i want to do before hand is rework the head to handle it (which is going on a built block)

 

Its not my car, but he is installing
stiffer valve springs, or is there more to do
for higher rpms?

there is lots more he can do, i am not the expert to ask, but i assume rods at the least...
not sure if he would be able to get away with just the valve springs
i would assume oil pump gears and rods would be highly recomended

He is installing other rods too.

But back to question: Can the EMU do this?

well doesn't the 1.8 have a longer stroke compared to the 1.6? The stronger rods should compensate for the stroke, but I thought the stock rods would be able to handle a little bit more rpm's as long as stiffer springs were added to correct valve float?

I believe the stock ECU cuts both when you hit the rev limiter.

I wouldn't twist a stock motor past 7400-7500rpm. Valve float at 7700 or so, rods start to go weak as you get close to 8k, and then past 8k the oil pump cavitates. Unless you've done extensive headwork and cams, it's not going to do you any good anyway.
