Still, at least I know how to stop EMB overriding the ECU.
One end of the USB is the emanage end, the other end is the laptop end. Don't bother with the emb end, just get it plugged to the laptop, and it should detect the new com port (drivers are installed)...

Then you need to first make sure the com port is assigned to something either 1 through 4, (software limitation in the greddy software).

Then you would hookup the emanage end, and see if the software will go online, and start communicating with the laptop. The ignition needs to be on for that part too.

Dave,
Thanks Dave. Actually I have done exactly that. Maybe I did not wait long enough to connect, but it did not look like anything was happening using port 1 - 4.

Mike.

Why don't you just lean out the fuel on the emanage? I passed emissions with my current set up and no cat. I really don't think the emanage is causing the problems, do you have a wb02?

I don't have a wb02 (this is not a turbo car BTW). With e-manage disconnected and a seafoam cleaning it still failed. Apparently the cat is dead. It was a JR Cat installed by the PO so I it may have failed just like another poster's on this thread.

If you're running vista on the computer it might be a little messy if you are using a com to usb adapter with the cable. Seems like vista is sensitive about those.
