4500 rpm limiter

So I went for a drive today and I go to floor the car and as sson as the needle passes 4k it hits some sorta limiter. It only does this if the throttle is 100% also will do this when I'm stopped in neutral and clutch in or out. Won't do it with part throttle, with part throttle I can rev to the red line.

How old are your plugs? What does the gap look like?

What about your fuel system? Is the filter relatively new? What does the LC1 say?

I'm betting its the plugs though.

assuming you checked your WHOLE msq and made sure there really isn't any limiter set for that rpm range, I'm going to guess its your wb connection to the ms being dead or off causing it to freak out. Happened to me with the adaptronic. Log your afr

miatamike203 07-21-2011 04:58 PM

I'm running the link standalone for the 90-93. I checked every thing and it's like a rev limiter not bad plugs or wb acting up. I checked them both before I posted.

This is out there because I don't know Link. Does the link have a knock sensor retard? Adaptronic would do that for me as there is a large false knock right around 4500 rpm at WOT and it would dump in timing. It fell on it's face. When not WOT the false knock wasn't there and it wouldn't do it and pass right through that RPM range.

I don't believe i have a knock sensor from what i could see. I need a dam MS2 so i can junk this link.

Mine is doing this same thing. Mspnp 2. I know this is an old thread but did anyone solve this? Its acting like it has a rev limiter at 4k. But only if it is at wot. If I raise the throttle back it continues to accelerate like normal.

Braineack 02-12-2013 10:56 AM

wow douche much....:fael: My question was seeing whether his issue has been solved. Since he has already posted his information I'm trying to find out the end result of this issue. Since there are several people that have had the EXACT same issue and not a single one of them have posted if it was resolved, the solution, or if they said f' it and set it on fire.

Braineack 02-12-2013 11:33 AM

quit yapping and post your tune and the datalog of the issue so i can hold your hand and fix your tuning issue.

Ok found the cause. The Cas was going bad. Went out fully that night. Replaced it all is good with the world.

18psi 02-15-2013 08:44 PM

problem gets solved when you troubleshoot it. imagine that
