Default BP6D block+BP4W shaved head+MS2 pnp doesn't start

Hi guys!

I've a 99 Miata, i'm from Spain, and this week i've changed the engine for this known mix (Squaretop and NB2 headers, looking for a legal conversion in my country).

The MS2 was actually working in my stock engine (no MAF) and slightly tuned (bit more advance and AFR table tuned) without problems (good idle but not as good cold start).

The problem now is that the car doesn't start with the new engine.

We check that we have gas, we have spark (the first time a little poor, but finally with some checkings better spark and cannot start neither) and the sensation is like the engine was out of timing, i've checked the timing trigger plate that is in correct position, and the belt for sure is correct (checked many times in the mount).

Engine does some tries to start when cranking, but is like something is not correct. Yesterday tried to check the ingition timing with the light, but no light only cranking, tried also fixed timing in 10º in the MS2, and similar result (the Current Tune has this now).

The Wideband is new, and didn't calibrate before, but i'm not suspect of this... (reads rich but reads logical value)

What about this composite logger signal, is this correct?

Any ideas?

Heres is my tune and some Logs trying to start(Composite and MegaLog)

I have a similar no-start issue as you. Double check the timing plate orientation. At TDC, is there a tooth right on the crank sensor?

For sure man, yesterday i've checked again with a photo, and the tooth was at right with the crank pulleys pin (in the 4 screw center) at the center up.

Today i'm going to test with stock ECU, with O2 sensor unplugged and MAF connected should start if everything is ok, not too much compression bump for this i think.

If not i'll lift up the rocket cover for check everything again...

OK guys, the problem with the stock ECU is that the immo doesn't work (has and alarm and should be the problem) , and the pump is not working, but with the fuel left in the rail the car starts!!

So, the problem is focused in the map or the Ms2, still checking things...

EDIT: Not really... only fires cyl 2 and 3 (heat in headers), but there is spark at cyl 1 at least, is the one i've checked many times...

Could be a bad cam timing, with MS2 cannot start, with stock ecu tries but at 2 cyl... you know.

This is annoying... finally decided to lift up the rocket cover and...

In the 10 Mark (should try moving a tooth forward?)

Checked also the Coils connectors, and are correct...

Sounds like misfiring and like it was out of timing, spark or something... could be a bad coil pack?

They aren't.

The I and E marks are matched to the plate behind the timing gear. You're supposed to ignore the 12o'clock marks, aside from counting 19 teeth. As long as lobes are facing outwards, they are correct.

edit: oh, now I see. Yeah, nubs b missing.
