EBC Ampage??

How many amps does an average (or specific) Electronic Boost Control Valve need? The reason i ask in the output i want to use from my ECU to control one can only support 0.6 Amps... not a lot!

If 0.6 amps is not enough then do i have any other options? Obviously cant use a relay...

My only other option is to use the output which i currently use for idle control which can sink 4 Amps. This would mean having no IACV and maybe using the minimum throttle stop bolt to just lift the idle until it wont stall. It is a dedicated race car so possibly not the end of the world depending how bad it is.

Last season i ran a standalone EBC with only a high and low setting and now i want to run a full boost control map to improve power delivery and increase driveability.

You could run it through some sort of higher powered transistor.

Use a mosfet. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1357442822

Substitute JS2 for whatever output you are using on your ECU.

Profit

Yeah like that :)

Measure the resistance of the valve.

Measure how many volts you have on the "12V" input to the valve.

amps = volts / resistance.

So, for example, if you measure 13.5V on the valve, and the valve's resistance is 30 Ohms, the amps will be 13.5/30 = 0.45 which is ok.

That's awesome! Thanks for the rapid response. Hopefully it will be fine.

The vave motec sell is 22ohms so is going to be very close depending on supply voltage. I would expect it is going to be fine though.
