yellow goes towards the headlights power wire for a dimmer.

my car is stored 30 mins from here, i try to have everything figured out before i drive over there to fail.
TNS+ (Dimmer) and ILL- (Dimmer Return). do i to complete a circuit with the dimmer return or just hook the yellow wire to the tns+?

I can't remember for sure, but I think most "dimmer wires" go to 12V when you turn the lights on. all you gotta do is tap that wire and run it to the gauge "dim" wire.

they say to use an actual headlight power wire. Which is pretty lame.
Just pull out you stereo, stick a probe in the harness with the key on and lights off and measure something below 3V and turn the lights on and measure 12V and you're in business.
