Default NB ECU impossible to remove ?

Everyone's NB's seems to have a normal 10mm bolt that sticks to the side for the top bracket, mine has Phillips screws that were screwed in from the top - genuinely impossible to get to with any tool let alone a finger. Oh what to do - i can’t even try and saw off the bracket or anything, what in the world is this?

not a single other NB I see online is designed this way. Same bracket spot, but totally diff screw layout.

2002 nb 6 speed , Canada

You need to remove the ECU with the bracket. Then remove the bracket from the ECU. The 10mm nut for the bracket is way up in there, and yes, it's difficult to remove.

This. The ECU must be removed as an assembly with the brackets.

As mentioned, 10mm nut. Once you crack it loose, you can spin it off with a finger, slide the assem forward, and out it goes.

Once remomved from the car, the phillips are easy to access to remove the brackets from the ECU.

ok the taking it off as a unit part makes sense - but, where then is this 10mm bolt to loosen? It’s not on the top where the Phillips are, and i don’t feel or see one on the side of the bracket. What am i missing here 😭
