Skip a race weekend because you're a lazy sack of ****, or retune the car after the parts come in the following weekend. Easy decision in my books. Or simply the initial tune unveiled that the fuel pump was dying. Multitude of explanations I can think of off the top of my head. Though seeing as you ended your sentence with a period, I guess I'm just answering a question that was never asked.

But what do I know, I'm dumb as ****.

Are/were you implying that I tuned the car recently or something? Actually, the car was tuned a long time ago when I'm sure the stock pump was perfectly fine....and AFRs/MPGs have been fine for a long time. This is why I noticed the odor of it being rich and noticed the drop in MPGs/higher fuel consumption. But thanks for playing!

Very much so sir!

You're changing fuel, its different. But the computer doesn't know of the changes. So a quick tweak/tune is in order.

If OP would have put in a new stock fuel pump then most likely not. Since OP put in a much more powerful one it overloads the stock FPR and returnless lines on the NB needs to be retuned.

I have changed a few from stock to uprated and never noticed any change in afr. Also I never used adjustable fuel pressure regulators just stock one's.

Now I think you are just making **** up, am I right?
