Default No spark..

hi all,

I have a bit of a problem with my eudm mx5 NA 1.6 90hp.
The big problem is, it won’t start.
After a long time of building i finaly finished everything and i try’d to start it.
no spark on all 4 cyllinders, checked all my wiring and it all works and comes to the right pins on the ecu.
changed everything, from coilpacks to sparkcable’s to ignitor.
still no spark, after that i tought i’m switching to toyota COPS. Still no spark..
If i put the ms2 that i have in a car of a friend of mine wich is a 116bhp 1.6 everythig works fine.
what am i doing wrong?
I’m desperate and looking for a 116bhp harness right now to swap it in. But i you guys have a solution it would be great.

thanks!

Are you getting 12V to the coil packs?
Where in the Netherlands are you located? If you live close (I am close to Utrecht) I can help you with debugging.

Does your ms see the signals from your cas/trigger wheels?

Ah Dordrecht is not super close, I am currently not mobile because I had a bicycle crash and I cannot drive and/or cycle at the moment :/

If your CAS is wired up correctly and you are getting RPM sync, there should be very little in the way of starting the car.
Swapping looms sounds a bit drastic for what seems a minor issue.
With these problems you have to rule out stuff one by one, changing too many variables can quickly lead to wrong diagnosis.
Did you change any of the settings of the MS when you tested it in your friends car?
How did you know you do not get spark?
Can you upload the msq file?

I know, but i’m busy for like 1 year now and a bit done...
I will upload the msq file when i can
and indeed it seems a bit drastic.. but it’s the only thing i didn’t changed/tested...
I tested it with the spark test option in tunerstudio.
when i plugged the ecu in the car of a friend of mine i did not changed any settings.
if u want you can look me up on facebook, that’s a lil bit easier haha: mischa van der Marel

The 89-93 1.6 and the weakass european-market 94-97 1.6 do not have the same wiring or ECU pinout. And firing correct wiring diagrams for the latter is apparently very hit-and-miss (probably because noone really bothers tuning/modding those engines).
If you pop in the stock ECU you should be able to figure out where the ignition goes on that one, and adjust the wiring harness accordingly.
