Looks like you're off to a solid start. What year is the car? Do you have any plans for FI in the future or keeping it NA?

If you have E85 in your area you can pick up some decent power from it. Several years ago 949 Racing (Emilio) shared some really good information on E85 tuning that was very helpful. It's worth some research as you continue to tinker with the car and look for more power.

I’ve got a 2001 NB2. Stock everything right now, but making the steps to proper FI and documenting for all to enjoy. Next step is getting the tune nice and clean, larger injectors, Skunk2 intake manifold to bypass the garbage VTCS nonsense, then working into FI.

Hard to find E85 in my area, but at least we have good 93 octane to work with. Hoping that timing advance and VVT optimization gets me a decent baseline

Working on ignition timing. Still some VVT tweaks needed I would guess as well

Getting the tune closer. Definitely noticed the extra top end power. VE and VVT still need some work.

Been messing with VVT more, defnitely helps lift that torque band!
2 passes to confirm the changes made that much of a difference!

Making some progress toward turbo time! Added FlowForce 640cc's and a squaretop intake. Squaretop is definitely worth it, even N/A I gained about 4 ft-lbs of torque and a couple HP. Tuning these EV14 type injectors is so much easier than the stock ones IMO.

That should be ~160 horses at the crank, not bad! Very smooth graph for just "1" smoothing. You'll have a good time, when you boost that thing

The time is meow.....The Kraken is coming! Got it before the price hike coming by the end of the month (April 2024 will have a ~12% increase!). Top mount T25 kit with full 3" exhaust. Going to run a ball bearing GT2860 Churbo to break in the system and new Centerforce Clutch. I'll post an unboxing when it arrives and new virtual dyno when the clutch is ready for WOT.

Dope! I just ordered their 3" downpipe back exhaust. Hoping to get that in a week or so.

I've enjoyed following this project. It makes me want to get better at tuning my spark table.

From the depths of Bulgaria, the Kraken has arrived to America! Only took a month to build and ship, which is honestly pretty impressive for a hand built kit. I'll share some unboxing photos when I get home from work. Stoked to get boosting!

Been a minute since I’ve updated. Almost ready to get her back on the street. So far, we’ve got:

Kraken Top Mount T25 kit with full exhaust
Turbonetics T25 - not sure of specs, got used
Lightened flywheel and Centerforce (SuperMiata) clutch
Fab9 Vibrant Intercooler
Mishimoto Radiator
Lots of other bits and bobs I had laying around

Hope to have it back on the road this weekend. Curious to see how 8psi hits on the Virtual Dyno!

Exhaust is a work of art 🤌

Packaged beautifully. Thanks Kraken!

The legend returns. Super interested to see the virtual dyno charts as well.

That turbo looks tiny! Did you just source it from marketplace or something?

New old stock on eBay. Can't really tell if it's a legit Turbonetics (lol), but build quality seems quite good. Measured the compressor wheel inducer at 37mm. I have a feeling it will be restrictive at the top end, but hey, it was only $100 and should be good enough to break in the new clutch and dial in some VE settings.

Nice, nothing wrong with starting small. Probably preferable so you can focus on polishing the setup with what you've got and not be tempted to turn the boost up before everything's ready. I'll be patiently waiting.

Got it running. Set my BOV to full hard. The combo of light turbo flutter and whoosh…Muwah!!

Breaking in the clutch and hoping the seals swell up a little in this turbo. Got some light smoke until she’s warmed up. Doesn’t help that it’s running AFR in the 8’s 😬

Hell yeah man! Fingers crossed the smoking clears up. You'll be tapping the throttle to get the BOV to sound for a while now

At least is sounded good for a quick minute 😂. I’ll definitely loosen up that BOV for round 2. Thanks for the tip, Six
