Default What to do with Hydra MSM

I bought a MSM with a Hydra Nemesis 2.7 and can't find anyone locally to tune it. It runs, but only makes 170whp at 9psi. The engine is built with forged internals and I want MO POWA. I don't necessarily want to drop another $1-2k for an ECU and tuning but I'm not sure that I have much of an option.

Any suggestions? What are my options?

Have you checked with any local Subaru performance shops? If you can't find anybody to remotely tune it (only one offered but he's retired from tuning) and are unable to learn yourself, your best bet is to ask what a local tuner would use and is willing to tune. The 22k mile MSM I purchased in 2019 sounds similar, minus the built engine and with an older, Hydra 2.6. Nobody bid likely because of the track modifications and the Hydra despite the ultra low mileage.

Last Fall I bit the bullet and installed an MS3 because my 2.6 didn't have fuel autotune unlocked. I also wasn't happy...or very good at tuning from data logs. Worse, I wasn't sure how old or how many miles were on the O2 sensor or if it and didn't trust it's accuracy despite having calibrated it in free air. I tried upgrading to 2.7 thinking my tune was close enough and I could further tweak it. The engine stalled on hot restart and any time I used A/C, plus it idled and cruised stupid rich until I manually tuned the high vacuum cells. My upgrade to 2.7 failed (took too long, was ghosted, ended up disputing the charge) and I was lucky to get it back so I could reinstall the ECU and drive it through the summer until after my mother visited.

I got a little help tuning the MS3 and will probably pay for some remote tuning this Spring because I seemed to be struggling more than anticipated. It's a STEEP learning curve but if you want, I have the Flyin' Miata base maps. At least you could compare or save your tune and install the FM base tune (RC 550cc injectors?). My 2.6 tune seemed to be built up from scratch after comparing to the base map. First call around if you can find any Subaru performance shops, many are comfortable tuning Hydra and the 2.7 software is MUCH better than 2.6 that I was using.
