Where is the 01 ECU
1 Attachment(s)
So today I started getting my gauges wired up and a few other simple things done in order to be prepared to install megasquirt soon.
As i got under the dash and looked for a hole in the firewall I noticed the ecu down there - My car is 100% an 01 and everything I've read online says all nb2s have the ecu behind the passenger seat. I'm just wondering - anyone know if this is just an 01 thing or maybe some early models? pic of vin sticker - https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1336869898 |
ECU is in the drivers footwell next to the steering column above the clutch pedal, mounted vertically.

Yeah I already knew where it was in my car -
I was just curious about the years and when they moved it - No worries MS install soon... fail to follow... |

The OEM harness (and OEM ECU)can easely be rerouted to behind the glove box. No splicing. Lots of space for ECU and other related stuff like data logger, LC1, boost controller, adapterboard etc.

No, that is 94-97 location. 99+ is under the dash where you found yours.

all nb's are under dash like crashncar said.
it is a pain in the butt to get to and work on, I'm in my 20's and will agree still |
Just for general information: The location of the ECU in a EUDM '99 - '00 is also under the passenger's foot rest.
