I have seen the EMS mounted on the floorboard, behind the seats, and in the glovebox.
Is there any reason why the EMS can't be mounted in the trunk? Where is the cleanest install location in your opinion?

Is there a reason to mount it in the trunk? You'd have to run extra wires, adding weight and additional potential failure points. You'd also be moving weight upward in the car, which is counter-productive (assuming the original spot was under the passenger's feet like it is on my 1.6), and you'd be decreasing trunk space.
I see no benefits. Just mount it in the stock location.

That explains why I only SEE it mounted elsewhere - because most people just people just put it under the dash?
And the shorter vacuum line makes sense too.

Even if the stock location for '94+ is behind the seat, I would still put it under the dash. Do you '94+ guys have any reason you prefer to keep it behind the seat? Do you not have the metal cover us '90-'93 guys have?
I have a 94 and stuck mine in the glove box. My problem was, mounting the MS in the stock location behind the seats caused problems with the lotus seats. With the seat all the way back, it would hit the MS. I just didn't like that idea at all. Now, I can also chop out about 4 feet of that thick ECU wiring harness.
