Wideband O2 for air vents
Hi this is the my first thread but I've replied to a few and have been on this site a lot in the past year. I'm getting a WBO2 for my 96 and I really want the gauge to go into one of the two center vents. I already have a 2" Autometer boost gauge in one so I know 2" is a perfect fit, but the only WBO2's I can find are 52mm aka 2-1/16". Anyone have any ideas? Thanks- Wes

I've had both my old AEM and my current XD-16 mounted in the left-center eyeball vent. Perfect fit on both. With the XD-16, I used the threaded studs and a little bit of flat plate behind to firmly anchor it to the trim ring. The AEM was a perfect friction fit with no tape or other retaining devices.
Yes.
Although in my case, as I didn't need to use electrical tape in either case, I didn't even bother blocking the duct. The heat does not seem to affect the gauge at all.

Sorry Necro, but this is relavant so rather than a new post ill post here and search didnt turn up anything useful.
How did you all route the cable ? ive got the vent out and ready to mount the gauge in but not sure how to route the cable ( my control box is in the pass footwell ). Is there a way through the heating path or do u need to drill a hole in there to pass the cable through into behind the dash?.
I was thinking about just routing it through the tombstone but i think the cable will then block where the gauge sits. any ideas would be great thanks.
Pics would be excelent.

+1 I rock the AEM gauge in one vent, and pro sport boost gauge in the other.
Edit: For the wbo2 you don't need to do any modification to the vent for the wires to clear. For the boost gauge i drilled a hole in the vent to run the vac line. I figured i could always patch that hole if i revert to using all 4 vents again. So far i have no complaints.
