How to Install a Trigger Wheel on a 1.6 NA Miata
Sorry if this isn't the right section.
I'd like to install a Master ECU on my Mazda MX5 NA supercharger
I currently use a Speeduino with the original CAS.
My tuner told me it would be better to install a trigger wheel for better resolution on the engine timing.
Has anyone installed a trigger wheel on a Miata NA 1.6 long nose? It's not set up like the newer ones NB
Do you have any advice?
Has anyone installed one?
tanks!
sorry for my english, but i'm writing from italy

Best bet is to remove the oil pump and install an NB pump. They use an o-ring instead of a paper gasket so in my opinion they seal better, and have the mount for a crank sensor. Otherwise the trigger wheel itself bolts up behind the crank pulley just like an NB. The 1.6 oil pump doesn't have a threaded hole or a flat spot there to mount the crank sensor.
If you go that route, I have a trackspeed 12 tooth wheel and spacer lying around also.
