Interesting. Sounds like it's not running on all four when it dies. Why did you replace the gasket? Have you run a compression test?

I replaced it because I'm going turbo so I figured I replace it know while its NA so I wont blow the OEM one and have to pull more things off to replace it while its turbo, I didn't compression test it it was running really good had no problems until now, I'll test it tomorrow and let you know what the numbers are.

I marked one hose and the hard line with a white sharpie to avoid that problem all hoses are connected properly, just checked again before this reply

I watched your video , I think the fuel pump is only coming on for the cranking part of the cycle . Can you verify that the fuel pump is continuing to running after the starter is disengaged . There is a switch in the MAF that is suppose to send power to the pump once the car starts . You should be able to jumper it at the diagnostic connector under the hood. Fredb

Am I jumping GND and F/P in the diag box ?, if I do that will the fuel pump continue to run after the starter is disengaged?

it should.
You have power, then it goes through a relay, then through the AFM or maybe AFM then relay....don't recall exactly

when the ignition goes on.....you should be able to hear the fuel pump hiss. On the NA6's.....it should always run. (Unlike the NA8 & after.) or unless you have an aftermarket ECU where this setting has been changed. (thats the way I recall it. If someone knows for sure please correct me)

when you connect Grnd & F/P it should run regardless. As soon as the ignition is switched on
this process bypasses the AFM.

If the pump doesn't run, it could be
1.Faulty Relay
2.Faulty Fuel pump.
3.faulty wiring on the fuel pump harness
4. any combination of the above

The AFM has an emergency mechanism which stops the fuel pump from running in case of an accident. It may be faulty if you are not getting fuel.You are bypassing this mechanism with this process.

If the pump runs with GRD & F/P connected , but doesn't normally. You know its the AFM.

Ive had 3 scenarios. faulty pump harness wiring, Faulty pump (intermittent) & faulty relay.

never had a faulty AFM.
Pumps can also become intermittent. if you hit the rear deck with your hand and it starts to work again. You know the pump is becoming toast.

The click is also your Relay.....most likely working. Pump seems really fine as it starts every time

is the hose on you Idle valve connected?

Fuel pump / relay both have to be good , if they weren't the engine wouldn't see enough fuel pressure to fire when cranking . Fredb

I tried, no luck car started like it did in the video revs high then dies below 500 and stalls , second try I gave it some gas and did the same thing. I can hear the pump when I jumped it
