Wrong. The 1.6 block is no stronger then the 1.8 block.

If money is no object give Savington a call at Track Speed Engineering and tell him what all you want and he will get it made. You will be broke afterwards.

i have built 1.6l , and im making just under 360whp , no need to do a 1.8l swap , just spend the money on the right parts and have someone put it together for you , i went with corilo rods , cp pistons (special order) , billet main caps, ARP bolts , Cometic HG , supertech valves retainers and springs , HKS cams 264/264 , this is all toy need to make 3572hp for 4yrs now including track time .

LS1 swap + Turbo = WIN.

(90-90 Miata ÷ InfiniteMoney) + (LS1 swap + Turbo²) x (the bitches you'll get from owning it) = MEGAWIN

I know this is years later, but could you tell me how much it cost to make this build. I showed this to a guy who biulds miatas and he said it would be like $10k. I looked up the parts/prices and I was a lot cheaper than 10k...so I dont know

Exclamation Why

I'm looking to do a build on my 91 and have been doing research and talking with people, to be honest I don't think you realize what your saying in wanting to get 350 horse out of 1.6. As has already been mentioned you would be wise to go with the 1.8. Displacement makes a difference, you can only do so much with a 1.6, think about it. You have received several recommendations on this, proceed with caution.
