1.8l help
Hey guys ive got a 96 with a tired 1.8l engine im going to bet turboing it with a GT2860,the goal is to push 15psi ive searched prolly not using the right keywords but heres what ive got so far
Forged rods
Forged pisons
metal headgasket
Arp Headstuds
If there is anything else,other weakpoints in the engine that you could point out to me while i have it apart. Also could someone tell me the correct stock compression ratio for a stock 1.8l

Honestly I am not sure on that.
At the end of the day if you have never built a motor, the TSE motor is a damn good deal. If you are trying to do a built motor semi cheap you will end up with exactly the same setup that they build. Knowing that you are getting a built motor from a known good engine builder is worth the couple extra hundred it is to get it from TSE.

i agree and i looked up there area code i belive they are in Santa barbra. Im stationed at Camp Pendlton so its only 4 hours away i think im gonna call them and see how they would charge to do the work i dont have alot of time on my hands lol. Ive built engines before i just dont have anywhere to do it that wouldnt cost me alot of money so im thinking if i can convince the wife this is perfect lol
