Just to stir the pot id like to point out that i once went (over and over and over) 134mph in the 1/4th on a 2.5 inch exhaust (in a rush and had only that material laying around at the time) in a much heavier car then a miata. This was also a fairly average trap speed for a similar setup car so nothing really pointed that it was the end of the world and was robbing 900000whp.

But I would never argue that there wont be gains with a 3.0inch.....

Yes of course. I've done several things on my car that hurt power, but I still make good power. I have a quiet muffler, a catalytic converter, all factory emissions equipment installed and working, and it still makes a lot of power. There's no doubt it would make more if I removed all that stuff and let it breathe better. I run 2.5" intercooler piping and 3" exhaust.

Ok cool you found one source to support your theory.

When are you going to the dyno.

I'm going this Sunday. Last time I had a 2.75" exhaust. I'll see if I make more power.

I live by the the phrase "Talk is cheap". Anybody can build a proxy Miata, and run it on the speculation dyno.

Lets say I am SO wrong, I put a 3" and gain 10 tq.
#1 I learned something
#2 I spent $124 for 10 tq because I was ignorant.(I wish the first 50 were that cheap.)

The only thing I have to lose is an argument (which even if I'm right I will still be the most hated guy on mt.net right now) and a 2.5" exhaust setup.

Got it layed out, now just to weld it in. I've never been more excited to be wrong in my life.

Did you bend that by driving over it with something?

He could very well "prove" 3" exhaust makes no more power with a kink in it that bad. OP, you could literally just cut the pipe at an angle and weld the two together, and it would flow better than that!

HELL YA ITS DRYER PIPE....But its really a flex pipe and I think the angle of the photo makes that bend look bad.

You literally are retarded.

Needs a banning. Because this won't be a 3" exhaust dyno.
