Nobody has the mains, rods maybe. King XP race bearings are a good alternative.

Mains have been on b/o since March. Anyone who has them and also builds motors (like me) is hoarding them so they don't end up unable to complete projects.

Why are they so hard to get? Is there some special process to making them, or just small batches or what?

My guess would be ACL just makes bearings in certain batches. When they run out of that batch, they are out until they get back around to them.

I do not know if it is true but I heard that ACL had financial problems and changed ownership and would be moving some production to the US, that means long production delays.
At any rate they are imposible to come by right now, many engine builders are hording them for their builds as i would.

I run ACL bearings on my new engine. That said I've had good luck with Mazda OEM bearings in the past. If you can't find the ACLs, maybe new OEM is an option for you?
