Default Any ideas on what could be ??

I have a 94 1.8l. I was checking my compression the other day and while I was doing so my battery seemed like it was dying while checking the 4 cylinder. so I but everything back together and tried to turn my miata on but the battery was died. I had put it to charge and I put it back on and the car did the same thing as if the battery is dead. Had the every happened to anyone? And I'd it had what was the issue?

Have you... I dunno...checked the voltage on the battery? Bring it to any auto parts store and have them test it.

Edit: did you disconnect your coilpack before doing the compression tests?

I'd still get the battery tested, especially if it is older. When doing compression tests it is advisable to disconnect the coilpack as they have been known to fry when cranking and not connected to a spark plug. If the battery tests out fine, find a spare coilpack and see if that is the issue.

Have you considered that the battery might be dead?

Coil on plugs ignition. This is where you no longer use a spark plug wire but move to a style of coil that sits directly over the spark plug.

Check the starter solenoid.

Also check the starter relay and that related stuff, might be a fried bit causing the starter to not get the voltage it needs to turn over.
