Bought gtx rods, how much is safe?
Well I just finished putting my motor together with new main and rod bearings, as well as new piston rods.
I just bought a set of 323 gtx rods from the b6t that I will be swapping out with my stock ones before I install the motor and have a few questions.
I know the gtx rods are beefier than stock, so the main thing i'm wondering is with a decent tune, how much power would stock pistons with gtx rods be safe for? I know it depends on many things but what is the general rule with these rods?
Also, in a few months i'll be adding meth injection and was wondering what would be the limit with the same setup running meth?
Thanks.
P.S. I considered getting my stock pistons tri-coated, but for another $200 I can get forged pistons with new rings so I think i'll just hold off until i have enough money for forged.

How much did you pay for the GTX rods? Could have gotten something like BelFab rods for probably about the same price. I wouldn't think the GTX rods would be good for THAT much more of a beating. So much depends on the tune and another 100 factors, its hard to pin down a real number. I would GUESS that the GTX rods are maybe 10%-20% stronger than stockers. What that equates to in a power number I have no idea.

when doing a budget build thats a lot cheaper than $400 plus shipping.
I've seen people run 325+whp on these b6t rods before, so i'm thinking the pistons are now the weakest link. Having said that, it's not certain or anything i'm just thinking from that and the size of them they have to be stronger than stock.
