Default Thanks OP

I'll just pop back on here to add thanks to the OP and the people that offered up the helpful tips.
I pulled the plugs and the injector connector and gave my engine a good spin. Got good oil pressure on the second turn of the key.
set timing, now waiting for the snow and rain to dry up.

I always seem to come to the party late, but my contribution to the discussion is that it's best to check the "action" of the plunger in the relief bypass. I ruined a brand new build several years ago because I didn't check it and the plunger got stuck with the bypass fully open (and I was a newb engine builder and didn't get oil pressure up on the first start). It didn't take long for oil starvation to cause a spun bearing.

I learned NEVER to do that again. An expensive lesson.
