BOV after intercooler, autocross
I have an FMII kit that places the BOV after the intercooler. Anybody have experience with moving it before the intercooler want to weight in on whether it was worth the effort?
To elaborate, at least at my typical autocrosses, the BOV cycles dozens of times per run. My thinking is that each time it blows off, that was heat dumped into the intercooler before going out to atmosphere that could have just been vented to atmosphere without heating the intercooler first. At autocross speeds, there isn't a ton of flow over the intercooler to begin with, so it needs all the help it can get. I'm just not sure if it really makes much difference or not. Anyone else want to weight in/agree/disagree?

So why would you want to put it before the IC...
So that the hotter air on the turbo side of the plumbing never gets into the intercooler? My thinking (maybe wrong?) is that the post intercooler air, even if it back flows into the intercooler, is at a lower temperature than the pre-intercooler air.
I was just joking, part of the fun of racing for me is not necessarily in going faster inherently, but in making the car faster as efficiently as possible. If I could make an improvement by moving plumbing around, that would be cool.

I've lost 18 pounds net so far since last fall, including re-losing the weight I gained when my daughter had her heart surgery and complications afterwards. It has been about a pound per week lost, which is, I'd argue, a good rate for being sure to keep it off.

Why do you say it isn't going to heat soak? IAT reads 34C warmed up in grid, over 45C after one run, over 50C after a few runs back to back to back. Seems like it is heat soaking pretty substantially to me. That is with the temp threshold turned way down so the fans both run constantly. I pulled a hose off and it didn't seem oily inside the IC, but i guess it might need to be cleaned....
So I've thought a bit more about this, and I think I'd rather have the BOV on the cool side of the intercooler to keep the flow direction constant, rather than on the hot side to keep the heat out of the intercooler.
