Question BP Build.

Hey,

I've recently had occurrence with my bp motor, and it's time pull it apart and overbuild it. I'm looking to make around over the 300ish mark and wanted to know whats your thoughts.
I'm still in the process of choosing between sticking with pump 98 octane which is the highest in aus or go the flex fuel route.
The list of parts are: BE Stage 2 oil pump (2-3shims), ATI harmonic balancer, ACL Race bearing set, Supertech pistons.
If i go with pump I'll get 9.5:1 compression and for flex fuel 8.8:1 at the 83.5mm piston, and do some slight shaving on the head to get close to that 9:1 ratio.

I'm just wondering if anyone has gone through this route or has any knowledge to put me in the right direction.

Thanks

Welcome!

I wouldn't suggest over-building your engine LOL.

There are any number of build threads here, and some of the stickies would be a great place to start, for example here. The usual advice is to avoid asking questions that have been answered, and that entails reading and learning from people who have been there done that. Spend some time exploring the site, you will find it a rewarding and informative experience. You might also familiarise yourself with the use of cats, for approval or otherwise of posts. One of your first tasks should be to introduce yourself on the 'meet and greet forum, and READ SAM'S ULTIMATE NOOBS thread.
