Having the same issue, how did this get resolved? Mine is having the seal walk around in the hole while standing and then throw's the seal out on the bottom and leaks a bunch of oil, like a faucet, when running.

If you're reading this here is how is fixed this issue:
  1. Made sure cap bolts were tight on seal and reinserted.
  2. Once the cam seal pops out, pull it out on the camshaft without taking anything apart besides removing the valve cover. the cam seal should be out of the hole by a decent amount.
  3. Now you want to clean the seal, and the hole. First wipe with clean rag until the seal and hole are dry. Then use something to remove oil on a rag, I used denatured alcohol to wipe the outside sealing surface on the seal, and corresponding surface in the hole.
  4. Smear some Permatex Black on the outer surface of the seal, push it back in the hole and use a hook or other method to rotate the seal 180*
Using this method worked for me and I was able to avoid removing all the hardware and re-timing the engine.
