is your fuel injector harness even plugged in?
the white/red 12v wires for the injectors are shared with the CAS and other components, like the ECU, powered directly from the MAIN relay. So if the CAS and ECU is working... do you have 12v on the B+ in the diagnostics box? |
Can we get a really nice front on shot of the engine bay, just for shits and giggles?

Okay. I'm not an electrician so I'm not 100% sure what I'm doing, but it seems rather simple. I took out the fuel injector relay and wanted to jump it to see if I would then get 12v at the injectors, determining the relay was bad. I jumped the black(ground) wire with the blk/wht(engine fuse) wire and still got 0v at the injectors. I then jumped the black(ground) wire with the green/wht(fuel inj fuse?) wire, and sparks flew... You guys can call me an idiot or whatever but I don't see a reason why I shouldn't have been able to jump those 2 and why it sent sparks flying..

you want to know why connecting a ground to DIRECTLY TO THE BATTERY caused sparks?
You now need to replace your 30A FUEL INJ FUSE. I'm not sure I can help any longer; I want to help you run again, not melt vital components/electronics. and you're touching the MAIN relay, not the fuel injector relay, there is no such thing. And I've already fucking said the main relay was good since your CAS is obviously working, and that's powered off the same relay. The real test would have been listening to me and checking for 12v at the B+ pin on the dignostics connector... I feel ban coming. |
Okay, well I thought it was the fuel inj relay because I do not have a diagram on top of my fuse box, and everything I've been able to find on the internet said that was the FUEL INJ relay. So obviously I screwed up due to misinformation and uneducated guessing, so that was stupid on my part. I guess I should have listened to you and tested the voltage at the B+ pin. What is that for exactly? With the Fuel Inj fuse blown would the B+ pin still read 12v or not?

no.

I just checked all the fuses under the hood and they were all good, none blown. The ENGINE fuse under the steering wheel was blown. Does this mean that I may have caused more damage to the car than just blowing the 30A Fuel Inj fuse, or that it may have just blown the 15A Engine Fuse?
|
And BTW, I am getting 11.70v at the B+ pin. My battery is slightly low since the car hasn't started in over a month and countless attempts at starting it
|
okay cool.
blowing fuses is good, if they dont blow, then more important things do. if you have voltage on b+ and not on the w/r wires on your injectors, then the injector harness is messed up. |
Should I be getting power to the injectors in the RUN position or does it need to crank?
|
I found a wire in a bundle that plugs in to the fuel injector harness? But it doesn't go to the injectors, the loom splits into 2 sections. One section goes to the injectors, the other goes behind the engine. It looks to me like, according to the wiring diagram, this blue/white wire goes to the "Powertrain Control Module" I don't know what the powertrain control module is, could someone enlighten me?

That's your ECU bud.

Take a 0 gauge, connect it to a ground. A nice strong nut and just run it the other end across the bottom of the fuse box, that will probably fix it.

That always works for electricals, for mechanicals take the big hammer.
