Default DIY GT500 EV14 Injector Assembly Question

Im working on putting together my GT500 injectors with a Flow Force BYOI kit. I've found a couple threads where others have done this or something similar, but I'm a bit hung up on what to do with the plastic ring at the bottom that holds the green O ring on that came with the injectors. The black rubber cushion that came with the Flow Force kit doesn't fit over the plastic ring completely. Some have said its fine to run it with the plastic ring, others have said it needs to be removed. To those who have done this, what did you end up doing and if you removed the plastic ring, what was the procedure you used?

This is one of the threads I have been referencing. It seems like one user Rallas had success leaving the plastic grommet on, but Lars and user Onyxyth went ahead and cut / removed it. No one ever explained how to remove it, besides, "cut vertically" in another thread, but that isn't super clear. Im concerned about damaging the injector and wanted to ask before I go at it with a box cutter and snips.

I mean, they could drive too i guess....

No, just wanted to see if there was a trick to it before I risked breaking a new part, especially since there are members that have done it before. Asking a question is free, breaking a part costs money. Luckily its a relatively cheap part, so its not a huge deal.

So this ended up being less of a big deal than I expected. The plastic ring at the bottom isn't adhered on in any way, it is just molded around a raised lip at the bottom of the metal sleeve that the o-ring sits on. What worked best for me was taking a sharp blade, and making 8-12 vertical cuts around the edge of the plastic ring, and then carefully plying each section of the ring away from the injector. After most of the outer ring is bent away, it will easily slide off. Its difficult not to mar the injector, but I believe as long as one does't mar the upper lip that seals on the top part of the black rubber cushion, it will probably be fine.

Got the injectors installed and the car running, although super lean. From what I have read, this is normal when switching to EV14's. I adjusted the required fuel and dead times, but since I don't have a good understanding of dead time settings, wanted to get some feedback and make sure I configured it correctly. Here is the post I'm referencing for settings. The poster has an MS3 though, and I have an MS2 making the available configurations different. Below is how I have configured my MS.
