You should probably mention that you're pulling an LS, not a BP.

that too. up from the top isn't an option. i don't think you could get that engine out from the top.

I find it fascinating when I hear people pull the miata engine without the trans. I did that once with Braineack and getting the engine back in, and then trans attached was a bigger pita then just pulling them both together. It is doable, just took us far longer.

maybe you both just suck?

LOL

it never took me any longer to do either way

Why then hoist the tranny out and in when it's supposed to stay in the car with fluid, slave, shifter, prop etc?
I would even pull the engine to replace the clutch, one you know one procedure, why re-learn :p

Only pita is the engine mounts. Mating the tranny only require patience and standing in the engine bay hugging a BP. :)

I don't yank the engine to do clutch cause it's a bunch of wires to disconnect as well as draining coolant. Trans can come out much easier.
I just think the "MT way" was coined cause most on here don't have proper tools and lift and such.

So you got broz like shiuendeak doing the sawzall slam in their driveways

Pulling the engine for clutch change is silly. 3 or 4 extensions and wobble joints and an impact, its out in 20 minutes.

yup. and we already established that in the last thread we had about this exact topic
