Car won't start I've already replaced battery COP coils keep clicking in run
I'm wondering if this is a COP issue, or something else. I replaced the battery already. I notice my Ebrake indicator light and my after boost gauge flash when I put the key in and turn the ignition to run. My tach also jumps in time with the flashing on the Ebrake indicator light.
The car sounds like it wants to start, but but nothing happens. The coils seem to get really hot, and I think I can hear them firing even before I try to start the car. Is this more than likely an issue with my coils or Harness.
I've been running COP for a couple of years now, but when I pulled the back off the ignitor plug I used to make the harness plug and play, it noticed something that looks like corrosion. But I don't see anyhing that looks like a short.
Does it sound like I need to build a new harness, or is this likely to be something else. I've never seen the gauges or brake indicator flash like that. Again, the tack move in time with the flashes .
A couple of days ago I noticed that I could jump start the car but it will not start otherwise.
This sort of thing seems to happen when I need the car most like when my girl leaves town.

Try cleaning your connections at the battery first. then start checking your harness, by pulling on everyhitng. usually if something is corroded or bad connection it'll pull right out. just gently give each wire you've ever touched a little tug and see what happens. Also double check the grounds for the computer, I forget where they are but I think theyre towards the front of the motor in a 2 wires into 1 ring terminal. This is just 1 approach. It could be ANYTHING and this is just a guess, but most likely its something electrical. And I have no idea how they would fire without the key turned to start unless the car was running, keep us updated!
Its also quite possible that while jumping it you blew some fuse or something so check all your fuses especially pertaining to fuel pump, ign, etc.
Theres off position, acc, run and start in the ign. On both my miatas the ebrake light comes on when the key is in the start position which is normal. How high is the tach jumping? It is probably telling you that the engine is going about 300 rpms(the speed the starter motor is turning it)
good luck brother

Well the car started late last night. I turned it off, and tried it again, and all seemed well, and this was with the new harness. I figured it was ok, and I would go to bed and work on i when I got off n Wednesday. Well it won't start again. I decided to try data logging the start up process. I noticed I wasn't connecting to the MS, and finally pulled up the carpet, and saw the lights on the MSPNP flashing. What does that mean?

All of this as far as I can tell was caused by a bad main relay. Maybe replacing the harness was a good thing, and I love my new multi-meter I bought to trouble shoot things, but in another thread I found someone with a similar flash MS issue. It was the Main Relay. I pulled the old one, and put the new one in, and the car started 1st crank. No flashing, not strange anything.
