Honda intake manifold

That plenty of people have run BP's to high RPMs with stiff mounts and haven't broken intake manifolds.
Chinese copy, straight runners(not curved up/in like OE VICS/Square, no support like OE.
I don't believe psyber should reconsider stiff engine mounts because someone running a knockoff honda manifold broke theirs. Apples to Oranges.

Cold air intake hanging off a straight runner china copy manifold way out by the shock mount vs overbuilt bombproof OE manifold with inlet piping supported by a hard-mounted intercooler on the other end.
It lasted 6 years of pretty much 85% track/autocross use. My dyno post is on pg 7 of this thread. I'm not even upset.

No I bought one thinking of using it for a non turbo build but I went VICS instead. Some mods to the VICS in that I cut it open and removed EGR features and smoothed the thought a bit took off all flash and extra bosses. actually reduced the weight by a couple pounds. Kept the VICS chamber function like stock.
I've run two different 94-97 manifolds modified to fit a 99 head on my turbo beast. Both were heavily messaged cut open ported all the EGR features removed all extra flash and bosses ground off thick sections thinned etc. The first one I cut and welded on a 1/2" thick piece of 5052 for the head flange. The one I'm currently using I just moved the holes but there was a lot of welding grinding and shaping in the way I did it, everything smoothed out so it looks like it was cast that way, removed some weight as well.

So I have been lurking this thread for a while. I have been running a ebay skunk2 knockoff for close to half a year now and am in the process of making two more for friends. Ive been CNCing my flanges and welding them to a cut b18 manifold. Ive also been running the stock miata manifold support. The flange is .5" thick 6061. I have about 8,000 daily driven miles on this setup (with AWR race motor mounts so there is a shitload of vibration) with 0 issues on the welds.
When you cut the flange off, the runners are ~5mm out of alignment and a different size. Originally I was grinding the flange and manifold to fit but I decided to spend a little time to redesign the flange for my friends builds and am doing cnc port matching between the BP head and B18 runners. The long of the short of it is now that I have a fixture and code made for this flange, I figure Id offer to sell a few if anyone wants one. I also can do a full kit which would include a blockoff plate for the b18 mani ports which also serves as a throttle cable mount and an adapter to clock and attach the miata throttle body to the manifold. Right now the design is for a 99+ head but it wouldn't bee to hard to do a 94-97. The price for a flange is $100 and for a full miata kit it would be $150.
Ill make a post in the for sale section as well.
