Default How to repair this?

Any suggestions on how to remove this? Looks like the previous mechanic pried the seal out while gouging the outer cam seal surface.

Would you use Permatex Gray to help seal it?

Does it actually leak?

Use some emery paper to smooth the edges. Stick some JB Weld in there, let it cure. Carefully sand to make it smooth. Remove all traces of sanding dust/grit. Install seal.

You think it needs to be repaired w/ JBweld? It wasn't leaking.

I thought some Permatex black or gray would seal it up.

It was tough to tell from the pic, but I had guessed there was enough sealing surface there to keep it from leaking.

Ain't broke, don't fix it.

Or, fix it with JB weld as suggested.

If it's not leaking, don't touch it. If it is, this is a great application for JBweld.

So just place the seal over that scratched lip that was created (it's raised maybe 1/2mm)? Won't it tear it? Previous one I pulled out was torn when I pulled it out.
