I am 12 what is this? evap bullshit?
I just pulled this rat nest of crap out of my car. It's not used for making the car move this I know. What are the chances my hydra is going not be happy without all of this crap in the car?
One of the sensors looked like a baro sensor but I think the map sensor in the hydra does all of its own work.
Picture of said bullshit.

Now the line that I believe comes from the fuel tank, should I just run that to the vented catch can I will be running? I can't see capping it off as being a good idea.

Sorry about that didn't get a chance to proof read before my girlfriend decided to be an attention ***** and jump on top of me.
It doesn't help the car with making boost or any type of forward motion. My question is will I have any other type of problems without having that **** in the car.

captures evap from the fuel tank and traps it in the charocal canister while the car is off, this allows for a closed gasonline tank system without pressure buildup, helps keeping pressure down and trapping the evaporation keeps the car smelling like gas when its just parked.
iirc gas tanks weren't a closed system before evap systems came about but I could be wrong.

This it what I did. No problems on the stock ECU or Megasquirt. http://www.mx5nutz.com/forum/index.p...pic=15120&st=0
I hope she got a body do!

I removed that junk with no issues. Ran a loop of hose to bypass the canister and return the vapor to the tank, which may be useless (quite sure it is, what good is a loop in the system going from the tank, to the engine bay, back to the tank). Though here lately it's been a vent to atmosphere, making my car smell like gas thanks to that hose having split recently. I was blaming other fuel system components.
charcoal canister and solenoids, all emissions crap
all you need to do is install a breather filter on the vent pipe that comes from the fuel tank. you dont want to cap it off as the fuel (and vapor) does expand and contract, so you want to basically leave the breather pipe open
ive heard that sealing that pipe can cause some stumbling and hesitation issues, but never dealt with that first-hand

im thinking about taking this out of my car too. i was wondering why nobody thought to remove the metal lines running to/from the charcoal can also? would this cause some sort of problem? i might just play it safe and run a hose from one to the other, deleting the can
Don't cap it, the fumes build up, especially when hot outside and can get real stinky. I moved my canister under the car by the fuel filter with the vent line to it. No solenoid, just the cannister to filter the fumes.
I am not having any trouble at all with it removed. And with it gone it leaves you with an extra output on the hydra to mess around with. I am now using the output that was working the evap solenoid to trigger my meth pump to turn on at 9psi.

Removed and on the squirt. There was a day where the old lines that went to it puked fuel, but that only happened once and I changed nothing. Hopefully my **** doesn't burn to the ground.
