Brian crower advised us not to coat on a 1000hp 4G63 , they said coating cause the rings to over heat. im not sure how much i believe this but it was their stroker kit

I have been told there is some truth to the rings getting hotter but that is because more of the heat stays in the chamber since it does not bleed off with a coated chamber but that is supposedly due to very high boost levels and combustion temperatures. I would imagine a 4G63 at 1000hp has serious temperature control needs that would have to be addressed and the coating holding in the heat might add too much for the cooling system to handle.
