so close the needle valve on the FMU... this isnt hard.

I closed it. We'll see if it makes a difference. lol

I "retuned" the fpr. With the line on it's 38. With the line off it's 50. I had to adjust it a little. I took it out for a drive, did a pedal to medal check and it still started to Lean.

Either get the MS working or put an O2 clamp on it.

what fuel pressure is it hitting in boost?

That I didn't get to check yet. Last time I checked it when I still had the 1.6 injectors on, it was 77psi. Anyways, I wanted to double check on the injectors. I sprayed some brake cleaner on all the injectors. Injector 2,3,4 are good, but injector #1 (closes to the firewall) made my car stall a bit. This could be the problem. Vacuum leak? Should I double gasket the bottom part? O-ring on top and bottom (from the fuel rail and to the manifold?

Braineack 12-04-2012 08:27 AM

that would be a vacuum leak. probably the insulator into the head.

AdoboMiata 12-04-2012 02:29 PM

I installed new gaskets, o ring, gromets, etc. I sprayed brake clean on the manifold part and there was no leaks. Took it out for a drive and did a pedal to medal test; the car started to lean. At idle, it's idling at 13.4. Rich. O.o. Anyways, I'm going to play around with the mspnp, I got some spare time today.

I'm so confused. Do you have a Megasquirt, FMU, or...... both?

I was using the FMU to get my car moving thus having the stock parts on (ecu, maf, etc). I noticed it leaned when I was "flooring it". There was a leak from injector one. I replaced the gaskets and spray brake cleaner to check (yes, the car was idling and was at warm temp) for leaks and it didn't droop. I took it out for a drive and it still leaned when i floored it. Since I have free time today, I'll go play around with my e-manage.

doesnt matter. too busy to bother tuning either/or.

Jdilla 12-04-2012 03:02 PM

could the fuel settings be set to the 1.6 injectors? You need to get that thing on a dyno tune before you burn your rings or scorch a piston.

I didn't touch the spark tables nor the coolant related air density... If this file is crap.. please correct it.. :[

wait, so you're using the MS AND FMU?!

triple88a 12-04-2012 03:36 PM

LOL I've been following his progress for a while. I keep waiting for the blown motor thread.

noo.. I used the fmu with the stock ecu to get around because I needed a vehicle to drive to get parts at an auto store. I removed the mspnp at that to time cause it wasn't tuned properly yet. When I ran the mspnp, I removed the FMU, st fuse, throttle body position sensor, o2 sensor, and the wastegate arm. That post was my .msq file.. just letting you know that I try to make time to tune it.

AND an e-manage?!?! o_O

Alright, i can only offer ONE piece of advice in this thread because my brain has been overfilled with fuck.

Ready for it? It's important.

Pick ONE solution and stick with it. Do NOT touch anything else until you've figured it out.

You dont need boost to "get around". Stop fucking with the FPR before you blow something.
